Carlo's Love

by Bianca

Chapter one: When they met

It was winter in Terra Nornia. Carlo, a green fluffy teen norn, walked happily his ways. He loved exploring the seemed un-end-able caves of his world. One day, he found a door. "Great." he thought. "You never know where you come in if you push a door" so he was about to push the little green arrow button. But waít: There was a little note on the door.. It says: "Warning! Child of the mind!" "Chiiieeeld ooof thee miiieend" Carlo has stopped reading. Reading was still hard for him, though he was already in the 4th year (which is the last year for elementary pupils in Germany I don't know about that in US, keep that in mind) "What does that mean?, 'Child of the mind'? Let's go and see." Of course, he had this impossible curiousity from his mother, Lilien. So he pushed the door, not considering the warning anymore.

In the room, he saw a norn. Well, he had often seen norns in his life before, but never such a norn! She was a teen, with beautiful brown-red hair in a wild long ponytail, a dark brown body, a red tail and blue eyes, eyes which were shining like a deep, deep ocean...in the moment Carlo had looked in these eyes, he knew that he had just found his love. No, he would never stay with any other giggling females anymore, he would stay only with this. It was love at first sight. In happiness he kissed the norn. "Hello, my name is Carlo, and yours?" No answer. The norn just looked, looked straight, watching the wall with soul-less eyes. "What's up to you? You don't hear me?" He shivered within when he noticed how empty these beautiful blue eyes looked. Just then, the Hand flew towards the room. "Carlo!" It shouted. "What are you doing here?" There was a bit of awe in Its voice. "Erm, Hi Hand! I just entered the room and found this norn. What's her name?" "Eerr..her name his Carmen..." It said and left the room nervous.

Chapter Two: Walking into death

"So your name is Carmen, eh? With a capital C, like my name!" he commented and laughed. Suddenly, the norn, who was introduced as Carmen, started walking. Did she finally see Carlo? No, she was running into the wall, even she didn't noticed the wall, she just walked and walked. "This is crazy..." Carlo thought. "Maybe she's hungry. That would make her happy!" Energetically he pushed the door to the living room open and collected some cheese pieces, with which he came to Carmen again. "Care for something to eat?" he asked, smiling at Carmen, who was still running and gave no answer. She didn't notice anything, and she became more and more weakly. "Speak to me, Carmen!" Carlo shouted, seeing this. She would starve when he wouldn't do something! And when she would starve....he knew he was immortal. An immortal life without Carmen? No, that was not possible. Absolutely not possible! He fighted with tears. His beloved was walking into death!

"HAND!" he shouted. "HAND HAND HAND!!!!" over and over, until finally Hand came. "Do something for Carmen!" he shouted at It. "She is starving!" "I know, Carlo, I unfortunately know." "Can you give her a power infusion?" "What would that help? I give her power infusions since she was born. Living with pain of infusions to live isn't an enjoyable life. Am I right? That makes no sense. I have decided to let her die in peace." "Nooooo.....!!!" Carlo screamed. "Please understand it, it's better for you both!" Hand said. That was confusing Carlo. He was used to Hand as a protector of norns... but, on the other side, It was right. Would he bear a life which only was made longer with painful infusions? And just this instant, Terra Nornia heard the last sigh of Carmen the Child of the mind.

"Carmen....no....nonono...." Carlo whispered while looking at Carmens corpse. Tears flowed through his face. He sat there, looking at her, his beloved. He curled her chaotic but beautful hair, and then she disappered. Carlo sat there still for a long, long while, starring at the empty floor, tears kept flowing.

Chapter Three: Back to life

A girl sighed in front of the Creatures computer. She was 14, a real Creatures addict and her name was Bianca. She had just finished the graveyard for the Wood Norn Carmen. "Carmen, you ran into death innocently. We will miss you" This dreadful Child of the mind mutation! And now it had even broken a love. Bianca sighed when she looked at Carlo. He was one of her favorite norns, and now he would be sad until the end of his neverending life... she knew how it was to lose a love, although hers was not the victim of death. For a moment she thought to kill Carlo intentionally to end his sadness. But no, she wanted to have a good end. Suddenly she had an idea. Hadn't she another female woodnorn to comfort Carlo? Of course he would notice the difference, but it was worth a shot. She opened the exportfolder and began searching.

Carlo, who had turned into an adult, sighed and stood up. It made no more sense to sit here, Carmen would never come back again. He pushed the door to the living room open and had a cheese snack. For comfort, he also pushed the piano, which played its happy melody.

Then, Carlo noticed an adult norn. His mouth fell open at this sight. "Do I begin to hallucinate? I must be totally insane!" he thought. The norn in front of him looked exactly like Carmen! OK, not exactly. A darker brown, and a curious and nice instead of an empty look in her eyes, but these eyes....were also from this great blue. Knowing nothing better to do, he walked towards her and stuttered: "Ca...Ca..Carmen?" A warm and curious voice answered "Who's Carmen? No, I'm Nicole. What is your name?" "Err...Carlo, I think....yes my name is Carlo." Nicole laughed. This laughter sounded wonderful. "Nice to meet you, Carlo. Do you often forget your name?" she said and stretched out her hand for handshake. Carlo retrieved it nervous. "I'm new here. What about if you show me your world?" "Sure...it's spring now. What about a trip to the garden?" He didn't knew how he could say that. Nicole took his hand. "Enlighten me" she giggled. Carlo smiled.

From now on Nicole and Carlo were always seen together. They share their cheese pieces, explored the world (a doing Carlo missed a long time) and talked. Carlo told her about Carmen, and Nicole told him about her world, called ALBIA. A real confusing thing to him,who was born and raised in TN! Carlo knew he had found a love again, yes he loved Nicole. She was handsome like Carmen, and so curious, so clever and always happy. He also knew Nicole loved him, too. They often hugged each other and went hand in hand. Terra Nornia had gotten a new love.

One day, they sat near the pond together, watching the crawling crayfishes. "Neat." commented Nicole. "And the pond is so nice blue." "No. Not as blue as your wonderful eyes." With that, he gave her a kiss. Nicole gave him a kiss, too, and they looked in each others eyes, smiling.

"Carlo."

"Nicole"

And they went on exchange lovely kisses. They kissed and kissed and kissed, like they would never end.

Chapter Four: Reborn

Bianca smiled at the scene with Carlo and Nicole, hiding her Hand presence carefully in one corner of the desk. She had done the right thing. When she had played in Albia before discovering TN; she had raised this wonderful intelligent wood norn Nicole. A real good friend and comfort for Carlo. They were insanely in love. Just for good, she checked Nicoles breeder kit, when she noticed that her estrogen was falling and her progesterone coming up. Good gosh, she was pregnant!

"KIISSSS-POP!"

"Stop, Carlo!" Nicole said. "What's up, dear?" "I feel something in my stomach...and dizzy..." "You two lovebirds!" called a voice behind them, giggling. It was Hand. "Good news, Nicole! You and Carlo soon will be parents!" "That means..." stuttered Carlo. "A child?" "Good guess" said Hand. "YEAH! I will be a father!" Carlo shouted, and did a little dance. Nicole joined it, even though it was difficult to stand up with an egg in her tummy. "Now," said Hand. "Nicole, take good care of yourself, the egg will make you weak. So eat alot and such." "I will." said Nicole.

A few days later, Nicole was walking through the TN caves, sometimes stopping and eating cheese. Carlo still slept. Suddenly, she felt something that pulled her down. She knew it: The egg was coming. Nicole closed the eyes, and let it come. After the complicated egg-laying process she felt so tired that she could only get a short look of the sprinkled egg, and then fell asleep.

Carlo was up. He had heard something in the living room. Could it be...? He pushed the door open, and saw it! His egg, and next to it, his mate, sleeping. Slowly and quiet, he walked towards her. "Thank you." he whispered. Suddenly he heard a sound. "Crick-Crack-Crickle-Crackle..." Good Shee, the baby was hatching! Nicole heard it too and stirred, and they both watched when the egg broke in a half, and a cute head was visible. Carlo nervously picked the baby out of the shell and starred. It was a girl, a daughter, and pure woodnorn! She had a clever look, and reminded him of someone..."Carmen..." he whispered. "Carmen, it's you..." "Let's name her Carmen" said Nicole friendly behind him. The new Carmen looked straight ahead to Carlo, with a look that said: "I know you, Carlo, I remember." Or was he just hallucinating? But then a voice told: "Carmen foo dat coo" and her parents laughed happily

The entire Terra Nornia was in happiness today. Carmen was reborn.

And that's the

Comment: I wrote this story as a dedication to my favorite norn breed Wood-Norn by Frimlin. Carmen and Carlo are real. They really met and Carlo was really sad after Carmens death. I thought that would be a good material for a friendship-story and so I wrote a fanfiction-story about the death of Carmen and the love of Carlo and Nicole (who, and the rest of the story, is just fiction). Just for fun, I integrate a small introduction of myself. I hope you had fun reading this. When you have comments, feel free to Email BiancaTangermann@web.de
