Strange
Friends

Out on
the desert a lonely egg sat waiting to hatch. A passing grendel
saw its agitated rocking and went over to investigate. A small,
wet head poked out of the egg and saw the grendel. The head said,
" em bibble" and cracked the egg neatly in half. The
grendel glanced around to see if any creature was watching and
seeing no one it picked up the baby norn. It then took it to the
Grendel Tree where it gave the little gold norn a name, "Gactmacha,"
which in the Grendel's language means, "the golden one".
50 minutes later.
" Big Guy no." said Gactmacha.
"Big Guy give food!" grunted the
big grendel named Big Guy.
" Gactmacha no food!" said the norn,
she smacked Big Guy and ran to the Cable Car crying. Sometimes
Big Guy treated her like a baby. Sometimes she just wanted to
hurt him really bad. No, she thought, he cares for you like no
one else. She heard light footsteps behind her. Well, here it
goes, she said and she turned around.
Sophie was staring at a strange norn she had never seen before.
"Sophie norn" she said.
"Nown?" said the norn.
"Norn."
"Norn."
"Norn. Come norn." Sophie led the
norn down the lift to the Temple where her baby brother was playing.
The three norns started to play with the toy like they had known
each other from birth. Suddenly a dark shadow fell across the
norns and a big fist came down and hit Sophie on her head.
" No Big Guy!" shouted the strange
norn and she dragged the grendel up the lift and away from the
two norns. Sophie's little brother Mink brought
Sophie a carrot and a couple of toys but Sophie felt terrible.
Finally Mink got their father Dave and he said that Sophie was
going to die if she didn't
sleep soon.
Up in the Grendel Tree a horrible battle was
being fought between Big Guy and Gactmacha. Gactmacha was so mad
that she had much more strength than Big Guy did. Wham! POW! Crack!
Smack! Gactmacha was killing Big Guy! In the end
with Big Guy's little remaining strength he said, "Big Guy
push norn" and he kissed Gactmacha lightly on the lips and
then, he died.
About 15 minutes later.
Gactmacha and her Grenorn son, Big Gact, were
visiting Mink and Sophie at
the Temple. Slowly, Mink approached Gactmacha and kissed her passionately.
